Ipod Nano

I have recently received the new Ipod Nano 7th generation and at first look at it is great. It has a built in radio, pedometer, digital clock, you can play movies/TV shows. There are many devices that are able to do exactly the same job that the Ipod nano is able to do that is roughly the same size at a smaller price range, but the wont be as esthetically pleasing or be as easy to use.

It looks and acts the same way as the Ipod Touch/Iphone but smaller, lighter and cheaper. Obviously it has less functions and you cannot add any extra applications to it, also it is smaller in memory and slower. But what do you expect from a smaller device?

I have to admit that when ever I use the pedometer it would switch itself off or crash after 1 hour. I don't know if it is because it is in my pocket, but isn't that where the majority of people put there MP3 or where you would expect to put the pedometer? For $149 (£129 in the UK) I would of thought that they would of seen this problem and sorted it out. Although I do have a knack of getting the one off, naff device but the amount that Apple is earning they should at least have a stiffer quality control than most.

It has a really clear on the small screen that it has. I would even go to say that it has a better screen then my phone. That is slightly unfair, my phone is already a year old. The sound quality from the earphones which are called "Pod's" are bearable but better than the older sets. Also I think that they are tougher and more resistant to weir and tare. I believe that this is a good move because a lot of people only buy the one and keep it for years, until it completely dies on them. Often going though several headphones/earphones though the life of the MP3 player.

The only size that I was able to get was 16GB but they did give you a choice of colours. Gray, silver, pink, purple, yellow, green, blue, and the "(PRODUCT)red" red. This is a move away from the old fashioned two or three colours that they had on offer which were black or white/grey but giving you a choice of memory size instead.

All in all I think that overpriced but to get that brand into your pocket and the ease of use, I think that many more people are going buy them till the next one comes out.

UK Leaving the European Union

There have been mentions on if United Kingdom should leave the European Union. This was mentioned by Conservative Party leader, David Cameron. He hasn't mention if we should or shouldn't, which makes you think if he is up to the job if he cannot make these kind of decisions himself. It's like that he has other people make the decisions for him and then he cotes it with sugar with his over educated words that would confuse the average person.

The problem with the UK leaving the EU is that it would decrees the amount of trade that we have with the rest of Europe. This would hit hard on the UK finance.

Personaly I would stay in the EU.

First Firefox Phone

Firefox's new mobile, but are they to late?
Firefox has just realised a its own mobile phone. But is it to late? With Windows, AppleAndroid and BlackBerry already in the smatphone production, some might think that it is.

It is a smaller more basic phone compared to the latest Apples, Iphone 5, or the latest Windows 8 phone but they say that this gives the mobile battery a longer life with battery hungry applications or a high graphics chip.

There is most likely someone is going to sue Firefox over copyrights because to be honest there are similarities in looks and style of the phone.

You are able to download applications from google play if you adjust the settings, which I think would be a huge help for the phone since it is new to the market but as you know that anyone that

want to be part of the buzz at this stage, you have to come up with something radical and something new.

Has Firefox done it? We have to wait and see

HMV Possible Bailout

HMV's 239 stores in administration and a 25%-off sale in full swing, many small companies whose CDs are in the retailer's racks are anxiously waiting to see whether they will lose money as a result of the collapse.

HMV is its most important customer and accounts for 50% of its sales, says Neil Record, who runs the label's sales and distribution department.

"We're a little bit in the dark as to whether we're going to get our stock back," he said, adding that a few thousand CD's were at stake. Generous terms World Music Network, like most independent labels, does not handle its own distribution. Its CD's are actually delivered to music outlets by Proper Music Distribution.

HMV shop signBut music industry sources have confirmed to the BBC that in an effort to save the retailer from going under, suppliers both big and small have been providing it with stock on far more generous terms than were being extended to its independent counterparts.

Whereas most record shops have to pay suppliers within 30 days of being invoiced, HMV has been granted a 60-day period. The goods have also been supplied on a sale-or-return basis, meaning that HMV does not pay for items unless its customers shell out for them.

"That cut them a lot of slack," said one source. "In many ways, it was a lifeline for them."

Suppliers have also put up with HMV's lack of central distribution, which means that distributors have to cart the CDs directly to individual shops.

December is the busiest month of the year for CD and DVD sales. HMV could normally expect to receive invoices for those sales this month.

With the 60-day grace period kicking in from the end of the month in which the invoice is received, HMV would not have had to pay the bill until springtime.

But now that HMV is in administration, things become more complicated. If HMV closes down completely, World Music Network and its fellow small labels, queuing up for repayment with the rest of the chain's creditors, might never get paid at all. But while independent record companies face losses from HMV's woes, at least one major label is potentially on the hook for a great deal more.

HMV used to be part of the EMI record company until 1998, when it was spun off as a separate concern. At the time, EMI agreed to guarantee rental agreements on some of HMV's stores.

When Universal acquired EMI last year, it took on those liabilities. So if those stores are shut down and not relate, Universal could face a rent bill running into tens of millions of pounds.

But back at World Music Network, Neil Record is concerned about how to reach his customers if HMV disappears from the nation's High Streets.

"We knew CDs were under attack from digital sales," he says. "It was inevitable, but we didn't expect it this soon."

Fingers crossed that HMV will stay open because meny men wouldn't have many places to go.

Dance

I have been thinking of joining a dance group for some time but I haven't found any that I have been able to attend. The problem that I have is that on Tuesday I work a late shift, Wednesday and Friday I go strait from work to lessens. When ever I look for any, I find that they get to gather and train on days that I am doing something that day. I am looking for street dance classes around London on Monday or during the weekend. I don't even mind if it is underground or not advertised. I just really want to get into this. It is something that I have always wanted to do.

Snow in Britain

Who would of thought that I bit of snow would close schools and disrupt public transport. I thought that we would of been more prepared than this. I have been told that the college that I work in would be closing early due to the heavy snow forecast. I am going to sound like an old fogey now. I remember that I was forced to go to school in worst weather.

All that you need to do is wrap up walm and be careful when you are walking around on the pavement (side walk if you use the American term). I have to admit that there have been times that the local council's have been useful but that dose not mean that people should miss out on there education or miss getting to work. For many people local transport is the only means of getting around like me. I am still learning to drive so I don't have a car yet. So the only way that I can get to work and back is to take local transport.

We should employ the Norwegians to show us (the British people) how they survive their snowy condisions.

Just check the video to see the sort of wether that we are likely to get during the week. This was broacast on the BBC on the 15th January 2013.

Closing HMV

Hearing that hmv is closing down made me think that if there is anywhere in the high street that I am able to buy my music and films from. It also made me think that the modern high street is now just filled with cafe's and major clothing brands. This is the soul reason that I go into the high street is to go into a record shop and buy a physical disk of information which will play music when played on a "CD" player.

I never liked getting MP3's because they never give me the satisfaction in sound quality and has a good chance that it would become corrupted sooner or later. I don't like buying thing online because I am never sure on what the web-sight is doing with my information, even if I have used them before, I am very cautious. Even then you have to wait around for the CD to come though the post which can take up to a week for it to come though.

I want to buy a CD and wait around to find out that it has been lost in the post and was delivered to the wrong person. Which means that I have to wring up customer service of the company that I have bought the item from, explain to them that I have not received the item that I have ordered. Moan at them for hours that I really don't have the item where they say that I have to buy a new one because they cannot be sure that you don't really have it because they have been told that the item has been delivered on time.

Is this what we really want? I thought that the Internet was meant to make things easier. It makes it harder for the customer to know what they are getting is genuine. Or get a refund because there is no human contact and there is no way that the person on the other end is able to know what has happened after it has left the warehouse.

I just need a good record store that I can just walk into and buy my CD. That's all that I want to do and not have the high street filled with Jeggings and knitted hats which you ware in the middle of summer because you say "It's cool." and "It's called fashion".

No it's not your waring a condom on your head and you have renamed the leggings just give your parents an excuse not to ware a skirt, shorts or that stupid dress that you think makes you look fat. Leggings are supposed to be warn under something else. If you don't ware anything over the top of your leggings, you might as well not ware them at all.

Need more record shops that sold real music!
